"I don't want to be a real boy" refers to a time when Uncle Travis came to visit us, and he had a paper to write for school. He did not want to do it, and intoned his lack of desire to be a real boy repeatedly. We of course picked it up, and now it is generally intoned early in the morning when nobody wants to get up and go to school.
